Modern wedding films with a touch of nostalgia

Where I originally wanted to tell a story through my films, I find myself now wanting to hear and witness your experiences, and be able to share them later through my artwork. By far my favorite part of this now is getting to meet you, and see your families love you throughout your wedding journey.

I want to say I am completely ‘non-intrusive’, but that would be a bit of a lie. I’m not invisible, and I do enjoy interacting with your guests. But what I find crucially important, is knowing when to interact, and when to hang in the shadows.

When I started filming weddings in 2016, I was coming from a place where I simply wanted to make a living using my camera. I knew I wanted to create meaningful films, and I knew I wanted my work to be loved. While my style has evolved over time, those two wants have held true. But my favorite part of the ‘job’ has changed as well.

From the early hours of your rehearsal night, all the way through your morning-after brunch, your friends and family are going to be so present in your moments that you forget everything else. And that is kind of a big deal to me. How I shoot your wedding day can have an effect on these moments, and they are the thing I want to preserve the most. How I interact with your wedding day matters.

Speaking of shadows, one of my rules is simple but profound in my approach. Do not get between your guests and you during formalities. No standing at the front of the aisle during the ceremony, no blocking their view during speeches, and no ‘in your face’ lights during dancing.
